The USS PWD Club is a Southeastern Regional Club sanctioned by the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America. It is made up of members interested in the Breed as pet owners as well as performance and conformation competitors. The Club's quest is to share the fun of the Breed while educating members to be the best owners possible and to encourage and promote quality in purebred Portuguese Water Dogs by do all that is possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection. Our Directors and Officers live through out the region so we can assist in what ever is needed for the Breed in their area. Our club holds annual CGC (Canine Good Citizen) evaluations dates are announced. AKC's Canine Good CitizenŽ (CGC) Program. We have a strong Rescue mission backed by the PWDCA [Rescue Program]. If you know of a PWD in need of rescue or re-homing please help to insure it's safety and contact rescue. Club members are asked to participate in saving our breed and contacting our southern rescue coordinator Meg DeFore Megd4@aol.com We hold an annual club meeting at the Fall Fun Day, which varies in location and is announced well in advance. This year our Fall Fun Day will be held in St. Mary's, GA, which is in southeastern GA. This will be a big weekend event full of fun and friends. Members who fill out the annual achievement form will be honored for their new titles. Congratulations to the USSPWD Club for being awarded the 2011 National Specialty to be held at Callaway Gardens, Georgia. This event will be held in mid-September.
